I have no issue with How It Should Have Ended (HISHE) and their take on Lord of the Rings (LotR). I think it’s quite funny as a joke, but what I do have an issue with is when people use it as a way to honestly critique the LotR story. It blows my mind when people are dead serious about suggesting that they should have flown the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroyed it. No mess. No stress.

You just stressed me out for making such a ridiculous suggestion. If you are someone who jumped on that nonsensical bandwagon, here’s my argument for why you’re silly…
You’re Silly Because…
Reason 1:

Reason 2:
You clearly don’t understand the world that J.R.R. Tolkien created. Not only are you missing the history of Gandalf and the Eagles, but you’re missing the story of the Valar and why the One Ring and Sauron is such a big deal in the first place.
The whole of Middle Earth got into this mess because Melkor (The big bad god of the world, now known as Morgoth) started directly interfering with everything. If all this trouble came from the gods putting their finger into happenings of the world, why on Middle–Earth would Manwë (The big good god that leads the rest of the Valar and is set against Melkor because, you know, they’re bros), who controls the Sky and everything in it, including the Eagles, directly interfere by sending the Eagles? That’s why they sent the wizards down, so the wizards could interfere for them and from the looks of it, Gandalf gets things done.
Reason 3:
Finally, if you’re basing your opinion on a comedic interpretation of an epic like LotR, then you’ve lost the privilege of me considering your opinion on the subject as anything more than white noise that happened to pass between my two ears. It’s even worse if you haven’t read the books. If that’s the case, just sit down.
In Conclusion
Again, I think HISHE’s commentary on the Lord of the Rings is funny, but should never be considered seriously. Since this video came out 10 years ago I’ve had to suffer this discussion multiple times and, unfortunately, to no avail mostly. There’s just no reasoning with people like this.
