Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Kung Fu Panda is exactly like what it sounds. A panda doing kung fu. Po the Dragon Warrior has to clash against Tai Lung as the fate of kung fu hangs in the balance. It has the feel of a classic martial arts film with the humor of a child’s cartoon.

My Thoughts on Kung Fu Panda

PG | 1h 32 mins | Animation, Martial Arts, Adventure | June 6, 2008

Did I Like It?

My overall feeling towards the show.

I really enjoy this film. It’s satisfies a need to watch intense martial arts combat while still remaining light-hearted. I appreciated that there were plenty of kung fu sequences that kept the film exciting. In between the fight scenes, there were jokes and gags that made me smile, but didn’t go overboard.

Napability?

How easily could I sleep through this.

Kung Fu Panda, unlike the sequels, keeps my attention throughout. It balances the humor and the action perfectly, so when I’m starting to get bored of one they throw in the other to draw me back in.

What’s It Worth?

How much effort/money would I put towards this show.

I’d recommend owning this one, but it wouldn’t be my top priority to pick up. Add it to your list of movies and eventually add it to your collection. I can’t see a reason that you’ll ever regret it. Besides, this would be a great introduction into the Martial Arts genre for anyone who is unsure about their feelings towards a good kung fu flick.

How Often Would I Watch It?

The frequency that I would watch this.

This movie is watched fairly often at my house. It’s a movie I’m guaranteed to enjoy when I’m in need of a movie, but can’t justify something heavier.

Any “I’m Out!” Moments?

Moments where I mentally or physically check out of the show.

I couldn’t find any “I’m Out!” moments in Kung Fu Panda. The fights were all exciting. The jokes never went too far or too silly. This is a solid movie through and through.
