Jurassic Park is the reason everyone should think dinosaurs are cool and I mean everyone.
Synopsis
If a worker was killed on the job by one of the attractions, I’d consider it a bad omen. With concern, a couple of reputable scientists are brought in to give Jurassic Park their endorsement that everything is A-OK and prove there’s nothing to worry about. Too bad those endorsements will never happen.
On first glance, everything appears fine. Jurassic Park is a marvel of technology and innovation. The geneticists have thought of everything. They’ve filled gaps with frog DNA, ensured that all the creatures are female to control breeding, and even put in a fail safe in case any creatures got off the island. On paper, everything should work. But as the chaotician foreshadows, “…life finds a way.” Life certainly finds a way to almost kill everyone on the island.
The problems all start with Newman. Cutting a deal under the table to steal embryos, Newman systematically sets up the compound to fail. Turning off the power to every piece of the park, including the electric fences and the tour jeeps. With the worst luck in the world, tour group gets stuck in front of the T-Rex compound. After a few hours, the T-Rex breaks loose and the screaming starts.
The rest of the movie is the few remaining people on the island being chased, eaten, and screaming.

Did I Like It?
My overall feeling towards the show.
This my favorite Jurassic Park film. It’s a classic. Jurassic Park is the reason I thought dinosaurs were so cool growing up. The only thing I didn’t like about the movie is Lex, the granddaughter. The “hacker” not only has the weirdest scream or high pitched screech, but probably should have gotten everyone killed when the T-Rex broke out.
I also find that the velociraptors are the true stars of Jurassic Park. I know that the T-Rex is the mascot of this icon, but I think of the raptors whenever this movie comes up. They’re terrifying and super cool. I would rather be faced with a swarm of zombies than a trio of velociraptors in a field of tall grass.
Napability?
How easily could I sleep through this.
If someone suggested sleeping through this movie, I’d call them crazy. It would be an insult to the film. Also, dinosaur roars and screaming makes terrible background noise for a nap. I wouldn’t blame anyone for sleeping through the second or third films. Just not this one.
What’s It Worth?
How much effort/money would I put towards this show.
This should be on everyone’s Must Own list. You also can’t go wrong getting a t-shirt or going on the Universal Studios ride as many times as you can handle. I also encourage that if anyone discover that a friend or acquaintance hasn’t seen Jurassic Park, that you hunt them down and change that sad fact.
How Often Would I Watch It?
The frequency that I would watch this.
I’ve been watching Jurassic Park every few months for quite some time. It satisfies any craving I have for a thriller along with reminding me of my childhood. I also love watching it with friends.
Any “I’m Out!” Moments?
Moments where I mentally or physically check out of the show or other problems I have.
There are two things I find issue with. The first is the granddaughter. She just bugs me. I prefer Newman and the blood-sucking lawyer to her.
The second is why on earth did everyone leave? The whole point of the venture was to showcase the potential of the park and that requires people. It’s not until everyone ships off that the whole island falls apart. I’m pretty sure that understaffing is one of the main reasons businesses don’t operate efficiently. I feel that a few more staff would have been able to help solve the problems in the movie, or at least given the dinosaurs a few more people to eat. I’ve never understand why everyone suddenly disappears and left the guests to fend for themselves. It’s not like the compounds aren’t built like bunkers and could keep everyone safe until help arrives if they would just stay put.
Final Score for Jurassic Park
9/10
It’s the reason Dinosaurs are cool.
