My Thoughts on Jumanji

PG | 1h 44 mins | Action, Adventure, Family | December 15, 1995

Did I Like It?

My overall feeling towards the show.

I like it a lot better now than when I first watched it. When I was younger, I’d refuse to watch because all the crazy stuff that comes out of the game freaked me out. Now that I’m older, I would consider playing it for real if the opportunity presented itself. Call me crazy, but I think it would be fun.

Napability?

How easily could I sleep through this.

I wouldn’t blame anyone for catching a few Zzz’s during the beginning of the show. It’s really slow going at first and takes awhile to pick up. As soon as Robin Williams shows up, you should have a hard time falling asleep. Not only does the excitement pick up significantly, but there’s a lot more screaming.

What’s It Worth?

How much effort/money would I put towards this show.

This would be a movie that I wouldn’t mind owning, but I’m not going to go out of my way to get it. Maybe if it were on sale at Walmart and I was wandering through the DVD section. It’s definitely worth a rent if you haven’t ever seen it.

How Often Would I Watch It?

The frequency that I would watch this.

This is a movie that will crop up every couple years or so. Last time I personally watched Jumanji was maybe 10 years ago, so you’re not missing anything if this sits on your shelf for years at a time.

Any “I’m Out!” Moments?

Moments where I mentally or physically check out of the show.

Like I said earlier, the beginning of the movie is pretty slow going. It’s not until Robin Williams comes in that the movie really starts to catch my attention.
