My Thoughts on Hunter Prey

PG-13 | 1h 28 mins | Sci-Fi, Thriller, Independent | July 24, 2010

Did I Like It?

My overall feeling towards the show.

This may have been the first independent film I’m purposely chose to watch. It looked intriguing on Netflix and the premise piqued my interest. Even after all these years, I still think about this movie every now and then which makes this movie memorable. Hunter Prey isn’t an action packed thriller like I thought originally, but more of a mental game of cat and mouse.

Napability?

How easily could I sleep through this.

If nothing else, Hunter Prey is fun to look at, so I wouldn’t nap through it. Plus I went through all the effort to find it on YouTube. It is a slow-paced movie which could lead some to doze off. I thought it was interesting to catch the modified NERF guns they were using as props and that an advanced race of interstellar beings were still using AUX cords to connect their tech suits.

What’s It Worth?

How much effort/money would I put towards this show.

Watch this movie at least once. Luckily, you can watch it on YouTube for free and it’s not even in one of those weird formats trying to cheat the system. What do you have to lose?

How Often Would I Watch It?

The frequency that I would watch this.

It’s been 5 years since I sat down to watch this movie. I found it memorable, so I think about it occasionally and I’ll watch it every couple of years if I can find it. After you’ve seen it once, you probably won’t watch it again though.

Any “I’m Out!” Moments?

Moments where I mentally or physically check out of the show.

I will say that this movie does come across as trying to be more serious than it should be. Also, because it was slow throughout the whole show I found my attention wandering at times. If you can stick it out through the whole movie, it does telling a compelling story.
