Did I Like It?
My overall feeling towards the show.
This one wasn’t my favorite. It definitely deserves the recognition of a classic movie and it really is an icon, but it didn’t blow my socks off. I will say the best part for me was that they did well on conveying emotions and getting me, as a viewer, to connect on that level. The characters came across as whiny for me and E.T. carried most of the show on his own. Just saying.
Napability?
How easily could I sleep through this.
I could easily sleep through this one. This has a very slow and methodical pace with a few spikes in excitement. All I was really waiting for was when E.T. flew the bike in front of the moon. After that, I felt that I had achieved my goal and wouldn’t have felt any lose if I fell asleep.
What’s It Worth?
How much effort/money would I put towards this show.
Because E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is a classic, everyone should watch it at least once in their life. That also includes passing it on to future generations if you’re a responsible film-junkie parent. No one should ever be able to say they aren’t familiar with this movie icon.
How Often Would I Watch It?
The frequency that I would watch this.
The last time I watched this movie was like 15 years ago. This movie will wait in the back of my collection until an appropriate time presents itself. If that’s in 20 years I won’t feel any shame.
Any “I’m Out!” Moments?
Moments where I mentally or physically check out of the show.
The only time that I wanted to check out was when they were introducing the connection between E.T. and Elliot by getting E.T. drunk. It just felt awkward to me and I lost all desire to watch that scene. Good thing there’s a Skip button.
