My Thoughts on War for the Planet of the Apes
I’m so excited for this movie! I love the Planet of the Apes series so much. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of my Top 10 favorite movies and I can’t wait to see what they do with the final(?) installment.
I really feel for the apes and Caesar especially. The apes may be CGI and when they talk it’s in broken sentences, but the emotion is there and I really connect on that level.
War for the Planet of the Apes really looks action packed. Lots of weapons and lots of fighting. That won’t bother me as long as all the character depth that has been built up over the first two movies isn’t lost. Also, if Caesar dies I’m going to flip a treat.
I do plan on seeing this in theaters. Opening night if I can. This series is good enough in my books that I think it’s worth it, but I also think it might not be too crowded. I haven’t run across many people who hold this new take on the Planet of the Apes story in high enough regards to make me stress about a pack theater July 13th. Sucks to be them. They’re definitely missing out.
